A New Holiday, Ecuadorian Sport’s Day

Ecuador as you know is a country in which less than the 10% percent of people are very rich, and can choose whatever they want to do with their life’s, choosing whether studying or practicing sports for living. Of course for them the money is not what matter only the fact of doing what the really want.

But there’s also the other Ecuadorians and perhaps the 30% of the population do not have the chances to choose what they want to be, they only try to find the way to feed their family and go out of the poorness. In our country exactly the sports had created that opportunity. You know specially football. A lot of kids want to become the new Antonio Valencia, Jefferson Montero, Joffre Gerron, Neicer Reasco, Edison Mendez, and having the chance of giving their families what they never had, and most important do something not only for been recognized and having a lot of fans, but also for representing our country and showing the world that Ecuador perhaps is a small country in south America that few people know it and the foreigners that think about knowing Ecuador, believes that is in Africa. Of course they have the chance of showing where is Ecuador, and that is a beautiful small country full of extraordinary people that will do everything to show what really is their country.

For this we have to celebrate the sports day, first for been proud of a few people that had done something important for the country, doesn’t matter his or her economy, only matter the love and the fact of believing in his or herself on doing something important for Ecuador.

Perhaps you haven’t notice the passion we have when we watch a football match between Ecuador vs England or Liga Vs Inter, perhaps you haven’t realized that the kids want to do something like that, and when all the country supported Jefferson Perez in his last Olympics’ games and all of us wanted his victory. Perhaps we haven’t noticed that, but I really know that been proud of our country for those things are a reason to celebrate.

The ways on celebrating the Ecuadorian Sport day will depend on everyone, the important is to celebrate it, and make something important for our health, for the country and for been proud of been Ecuadorians.

Terrorism

Our languages are very extensive, but people don’t like to use specific words to mean what they want and in a lot of cases we switch words and the meanings are completely the opposite. That’s why that almost every single word has two or more meanings. This depends in the way we say the words and in the context in which we use them. There are words which their meaning are different but has a near relation like people, but there are words in which its meaning is completely the opposite. This is the case of terrorism and terrorist. Perhaps for a many people in society these words refer to death, terror and some crazy people causing panic to innocents. But for some others these words are fighting for good causes that only extreme actions will take in consideration. A very good example is the FARC consider as terrorist, for the news and for the 90% of society are lunatics that kidnapped people to sell illegally drugs. But for the other 10% means people that help the poor ones, and fight for their rights in a very extreme way. Obviously this bad impression of the FARC as a group of terrorism that we have; is because the media created this by judging them only for the bad acts. But there is also another way to know why them do what they do, and the ways they use to get their goals.

For this controversy I don’t have a solution, use the words which its exact meaning perhaps is a good starting. But which one will be the looser the terrorist as killers or as fighters of a good cause. Very difficult to get an agreement, but with no doubt the winner will be the language.

Easy Ways To Practice Another Language

Learning English, or another language, takes commitment. Getting started with a strange and difficult vocabulary, an extensive grammar and polite expressions can be complicated but a lot of fun. The best ways to practice and learn on an easy way another language while you are travelling are; read newspapers, magazines, and books published in that language, at the same time you are practicing your new language and you are getting inform with the last situations around the world and increase you education with literature of another country. You can also play games that includes new words, in this form you are having fun and learning. Chat with friends of a foreign language, while you will be talking with your friends of a lot of interesting subjects, you are practicing your grammar and writing.

And other thing you can do while you are traveling could be listening to music on that language. Obviously you will enjoy your journey with good music.

An idea that almost everyone does, is to watch television and good TV programs on that language you want to learn. In this way you will practice your vocabulary, phonics and new expressions, at the same time you are getting relax and using in a good way you’re travelling time.

Food to reflect

The junk food or fast food is considered the guilty of a lot of diseases in the world. Nowadays the people do prefer to eat fast food in any restaurant and doesn’t matter if it is good or not for your organism, than going to your home and eat some healthy food. Obviously this attitude is been encourage in young people by the globalization, you can find a Mc Donald’s in every country you can visit. That’s why Super Size me is a documentary film in which Morgan Spurlock decides to eat nothing but McDonalds for the three meals. Breakfast, dinner and lunch for 30 days in an attempt to discover whether it is healthy or not for you. Evidently the results were clear, everything in Spurlock health got bad and all the effects were negative. That’s why the doctors recommended Spurlock to stop the experiment and try to recover his good health. Unfortunately for his health he decided to continue with the experiment to show everyone how bad is to eat this kind of food.

The success of the film was the only thing positive in all the Spurlock’s experience. After watching the movie now people certainly knows not to super size the orders at Mc Donald’s.

My movies

Going to the cinema with friends is something I really enjoy, or prepared a good meal and invite some friends and later on watch a good movie is something I do usually. I simply can say that watching movies, reading and listen to music are my favorite’s hobbies.

But Watching movies is not only what I like to do in mine free time, But also in the future I want to produce someone’s.

For these reason the cinema in my life is very important that’s why I have a lot of favorites movies. Some of them I like the way they are produced also I like the message they give to people or others I simply like because I identify myself with them.

As I said I have a few that I considered as my favorites movies, those are:

HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, in this one I like the message them send us and is what a real Christmas is about. And that only matter the love to each other’s and the real friendship.

HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS , in this I simply identify with the protagonist and this is not only a film for lady’s but also for guys and to learn how to have a good relationship.

ELSA Y FRED: in this film I really learn something important for live and is to enjoy every single minute I have, and no matter the age you always could find your true love and share fantastic experiences.

HANNIBAL: well in this film I like a lot of things. First and the most important because my favorite actor in the world and in history acts here Anthony Hopkins. And also I like the way the writers made the protagonist Dr. Hannibal Lecter to be. Is an incredible person who knows a lot of things, is very intelligence and has a persuasion power like no other in the world.

ENCHANTED: in this film first I like the soundtrack its amazing and also I like the simple way which the protagonist act in front every problem or situation in live she has. For her there are no problems or bad feelings in everything you can obtain something good and act in a positive way.

ECUADORIAN HERO

The three times World Champion and Olympic gold in Atlanta, the best Ecuadorian athlete in history, Jefferson Perez, is for me considered one of the Ecuadorians heroes.

He had given to Ecuador one of the biggest awards in sport history. But his humbleness is what make of him a really hero. Nobody in Ecuador will forget the day in which for the first time we had our Olympic gold medal. That medal was really important in our history. Was the first step to start believing in ourselves as a big country who can reach important things.

But no just one time Jefferson Perez gave us a big achievement. So later on, there was any surprise to see him winning three times World Champion.

Finally, to end his successful career he tried once again to win the Olympic medal in Beijing, China. Unfortunately he could not. But his work didn’t stop there. After leaving the race courses, Jefferson is looking for other methods of achievement in his life. Currently he contributes to society through the foundation that carries his name, providing health, education and nutrition to children and teenagers.

General editor

As we watched in the movie, the job of the general editor is the most important in the newspaper. He is the responsible of the entire newspaper. The general editor has to verify the news that are published, he has to take care of the group of people that work in the newspaper, specially of the journalist, and is the responsible of the consequences that the news can bring to the journalist and the entire community.

He has to not only we aware of the veracity of the news, but also he has to take care of a top quality in the editorial line. One of the most important duties of the general editor is to know all the important people in the country. The journalist investigates, but with the help of the general editor that know a lot of sources, is that the job of the journalist is easier and they can be efficient.

The job of the general editor is to know all the important situations that are happening in the country, and in the world. In other words, he has to know about everything, knowing this, he says to the journalist what to research, to give the people the truth of what is happening in the world.

He also has to be the link between the journalist and the owner of the newspaper. He has to supervise the news until them are published.

So the job of the general editor is very important. He is the face of the newspaper, is the link between the source and the journalist, the community with the newspaper, and the journalist with the owner of the newspaper. As everyone see, been general editor is not easy, perhaps the most interesting, but the most difficult job also.

HOLIDAY

The entire holiday I spent with my family and I did so much fun activities that I wouldn’t even imagine.

The first days, I was very bored in home, and immediately I supposed that it would be the same way all the holiday.

Luckily, my brother and his wife came to Quito to visit her family, and they invited all of us to know their new home. So we (older sister, brother, sister in law, parents of my sister in law) went near Ibarra, where is the house. Over there, we enjoyed a lot. The house is very big, and had a huge backyard where you can do a lot of things. So we practiced sports and compete with each others. It was very entertaining.

With my sister in law prepared a lot of activities, we had a special meal and my sister, my sister in law and myself organized a championship of all kind of games. First was poker but always won the guys. So we decided to play bingo and jenga. This was awesome, because was women against men. Of course the ladies were the winners at the end of the evening.

The next day, we prepared a cinema day. All of us agree in two movies, those were very funny, but we finished watching them very early and none of us wanted to go to bed. So my brother had the best idea of all the holyday, on making a bonfire. Then we prepared some snacks, and started talking about everything. Then my sister, started telling a scary story, and everyone continued with them. When we realized the hour, it was very late night, but all of us were very scared so anyone wanted to go to bed. So we stayed awake all the night, and the next day we prepared to come back to Quito.

As I said, it was very nice holiday, not only for all the fun activities I did, but be the good time I spent with my family. Perhaps when a holiday is coming up, what the young people want is, to go to parties, clubbing, go to beach with friends or with our boyfriend, specially go as far as we can of our parents. But in this holiday I learned that I can spend a good time with grownups and do a lot of fun activities with them.

The person who I admire.

The person who I admire not only for what he does but also because the kind of person he is and by all the good actions he makes in benefit of others.

Is Roger FEDERER. Why admire Roger?

Considering that I love tennis and that I wanted to be a tennis player I see in Roger that type of tennis player that I would like to be.

Well, but I also admire him because he is the best tennis player in history considerer not only by his fans but also by others great tennis players and by a lot of journalists. He won a lot and very important championships singles and doubles, nowadays he has the best game, his shots are considered the best ones and his technique is almost perfect.

But I do not admire him only for his game and his achievements, but also because Roger is an admirable person in and out courts. He never disrespects the people that go to see him throwing his racquet or fighting for a point no with his rivals and never with his lines or chairs umpires. He doesn’t have any problem giving autographs to his fans and talking after tough matches with the journalist for long moments. As a difference that other players have.

Roger since he was 15 years old said to everyone he will be the number 1, as a difference of his tennis friends that dream to turn professionals or to be in the top 100. For this reason a lot of people considered him as an arrogant but it is not true. He is just ambitious.

Well as I said I admire him because all charity acts he does. He also has a foundation in South Africa. The RFF supports education, sports and fun activities in places with little or no money at all. The idea is to permit the children to make their future become reality.

As you see Roger is very humble, perhaps he had won a lot of titles, he is famous all over the world, has millionaire contracts by all the sponsors he has, but he doesn’t forget about the poor ones and specially the children.

As Roger said: IS NICE TO BE IMPORTANT BUT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE.

Fer's Biography

My name is Fernanda López, I’m 20 years old. Born at Latacunga, but since I was 3 months I came to live in Quito. I’m the youngest of my family, I have three sisters and one brother.

All my family is a huge fan of sports, that’s why since little they taught me every single sport, specially my brother. So when I was 7 years old I started practicing tennis, this without doubt was my favorite sport, I played all the afternoons after school.

For me, the education was important but not as tennis. That’s why, when I was 13 years old I decided to choose turn into professional tennis player and quit form school, unfortunately I got injured my wrist and my parents didn’t support my idea of quitting school and I couldn’t continuing playing tennis.

For me this was devastating, luckily a friend advice me, to continue my studies and became a journalist. So, I continued my studies and graduated at Cardinal Spellman Girls School.

Right now I’m studying communication, third year, at SEK University in Carcelen at north of Quito.

My goals now are very different. I want to become an event planner, and have my own business with my best friend Luisana. At the beginning we both like to start here in Quito and in the future at Argentina and at The United States.

Also I’m planning travelling when I graduated from university, not only to know other countries, but also to get experience and learn other things.
