Having pets on the family is an important issue that the everyone in the family have to think about. It is not only to buy a dog, a cat, a hamster or any animal you want. You have to think about a lot of aspects that are necessary when you buy an animal.
The most common pet that people have is a dog. But having a dog really depends on many different factors, including how old your children are, what size yard you have, the size dog you would like, if you prefer a short-haired or long haired dog and if you have the time for take care of the dog.
The Labs are pretty friendly, but they require a good size yard, as do most dogs that size or larger. If you are looking at smaller breeds, you must consider that many of these breeds, most terriers and Chihuahuas, can be extremely hyper and may not be good for a small child even though they are smaller.
A good small sized dog would be something like a Dachshund or a Spaniel. A good medium sized dog is a Lab, German Shepherd, or a Basset Hound or something of the sort.
If you have small children, or don’t have much time I wouldn’t necessarily suggest a dog larger than a Lab or shepherd. Don’t forget that mixed breeds often make the best dogs. You might find a dog that immediately connects to your family at your local pound.
The most important is that all your family love, respect and take care of the pet.
